Coral is very sharp and can rip an uncovered foot to pieces, as well as causing irreparable damage to the coral itself.
Do not assume it is safe to swim or dive unless you know it is safe to do so. Do not swim alone.
Driving. Warning Distances in the Outback are often vast- for example it is 1480km from Darwin to the Alice. Though roads such as the Stuart Highway and Arnhem Highway are sealed, many outback roads are at best gravel and unfenced. Wandering stock is a serious hazard- you are advised not to drive at night unless absolutely necessary, as is fatigue. Do not drive alone, advise someone of your route. Beware of road trains in the Northern Territory. Roads can become flooded and impassable even in 4wd at any time. If you breakdown stay with your vehicle.
